The Armenian national team forward shared his impressions of the fourth match of the World Championship against Iran (8:0).
— It was quite difficult to pull ourselves together after such a defeat, but we followed the coach’s instructions, tried to play our game and spend more time in the opponent’s zone.
— You had a lot of scoring chances today. Why didn’t you score at least one goal?
— I wanted to ask you this (laughs). What didn’t go well for me? I’ll be preparing for the next game to try to score a goal, to try to benefit the team. In my opinion, I did a good job on the ice, despite the fact that I didn’t score a goal.
— What’s the overall mood in the team? Because there were two emotionally difficult games before that.
— It was difficult to pull ourselves together. It was a tough night yesterday, but we coped, especially since our goalies made us very happy. Artem and Dima kept a clean sheet — they’re great. We’re pulling ourselves together and we’ve already pulled ourselves together and will be fully prepared for battle.
— Tell us your overall impressions of the World Championship. This is your first time playing in a tournament of this level. What does it mean for you specifically to play for the Armenian national team at the World Championship?
— It's a great pride for me that I can play for the country, for Armenia. I'm just overwhelmed with emotions, and I'm very happy that my first World Championship is taking place in Armenia. The fans are just tearing the stands apart, they help us play, help us score goals and pull ourselves together even after such a tough defeat. We will do everything for our fans, for our country.
